A Romanian Miracle

When the COVID-19 quarantine began in Bucharest, the missionaries tried different approaches for spreading the gospel. One of these was to message people to see if they would be interested in learning about another testament of Jesus Christ. C. was one of these people we contacted. Because of his love of God, he immediately accepted an invitation to be taught by the missionaries about the Lord and His restored Church.

The two missionaries who first met C., Sisters P. and C., quickly helped him grow in his desire to join what he had come to know as Jesus Christ's restored Church. He expressed his interest in baptism and decided on a day. From there, technology played a large role in allowing him to learn the gospel, while the law prevented us from meeting him face to face. Lessons with members, inspired content, and the Book of Mormon app in Romanian were also significant in his conversion process.

At times during the teaching process, we worried that C. might not have understood some of the principles correctly. Later, while teaching him the commandments, we marveled at his firm resolve to follow Jesus Christ. For example, after learning about the Word of Wisdom, he said that he would give up coffee, tea, etc. to become a member of the Church. Making significant friendships and connections with members along the way, he asked the missionaries specifically if President B. could baptize him.

On May 16, 2020, C. was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus of Latter-Day Saints by President B. Going forward, he is excited to continue learning and applying the gospel to his life.
