It’s 50 years ago that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was re-established in Jersey and commemoration services with The Bailiff of Jersey, William James Bailhache and Mrs Bailhache in attendance were recently held.

On a gloriously sunny evening, members and VIP guests in the Portsmouth area celebrated the 50th anniversary of the construction of the Southampton meeting house in Chetwynd Road, Southampton. 

The Cambridge Ward, Ipswich Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently celebrated the 50th Anniversary of its meeting house with a public Open Day and a visit from the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

Rekindling the zeal and dedication of early Church members, the 2013 British Pageant depicted the pivotal history of early British members in song and story performed at the Preston temple site.

Merthyr Tydfil Stake recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the chapel in 2013 with a series of events culminating in an Anniversary Spectacular and in a special Sunday commemoration service, where members of the stake, past and present, came to give thanks and share experiences.

Members and friends of the Kirkcaldy congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Scotland recently gathered to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Church building.

Gadfield Elm Chapel, in Worcestershire, was of great significance in the early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the British Isles, acting as the focal point of Church activity for thousands of Latter-day Saints until the majority emigrated to the USA to fulfil their dream of building a new Zion in the United States of America.
