I decided many years ago that I would find joy, no matter my circumstance. I wouldn’t wait for “when” or “if” to start that adventure, take that opportunity, or make that change. Making that commitment was a crucial step that changed my life and helped me start to thrive. I didn’t do it on my own, The Lord strengthened me through every situation I encountered and guided me along paths that brought me the greatest happiness.
My life hasn’t quite turned out the way I expected. One thing I didn’t expect was to still be single at this age. But being single is not an affliction. In my circumstance, the Lord has blessed me with amazing experiences, which I didn’t expect either, and which may not have been possible had my circumstances been different. It hasn’t always been an easy road and I am certain I will encounter challenges in the future, but I am also certain that if I continue to have FAITH and TRUST in Heavenly Father’s plan for my life, there will be even more wonderful experiences to come.
We are not here to just ‘get through life’; “… men are, that they might have joy.”[1] So, “Go out in the rain, look up to heaven, open your mouth, and drink it!”[2] Be joyful and try to bring joy to others.
