Jacek’s conversion story began several years ago when he received a copy of the Book of Mormon on the street from missionaries in Katowice, Poland. He read the entire book in 3 days. What amazed him most were the feelings he experienced while reading. He started to read it again, but loaned the book to a friend, who then lost it. Unfortunately, Jacek also lost contact with the missionaries around that time.
Having in the meantime moved to Warsaw, Jacek was later contacted over social media by a native Polish missionary. Jacek made it clear that he was interested in religious things, but that he was not a believer himself. He argued that if God was indeed our loving Father in Heaven, why did He allow bad things to happen in the world? The missionary replied that there was a scripture in the Book of Mormon that answers that question better than he could. He then shared Alma 60:13, where it states: For the Lord suffereth the righteous to be slain that his justice and judgment may come upon the wicked; therefore ye need not suppose that the righteous are lost because they are slain; but behold, they do enter into the rest of the Lord their God.
This verse so impressed Jacek that he responded, “Where can I buy a copy of the Book of Mormon?” The missionary explained that there is a free Book of Mormon app to which Jacek replied, “Gimme!” In a later meeting, Jacek told the missionaries, “You have nice hymns.” He had also found the Hymns app and was enjoying them as well!
Upon downloading the Book of Mormon, Jacek began reading in it every day. He quickly became convinced of its truthfulness and agreed to be baptized in October. That sacred day finally came on October 18th. Jacek's life has now changed completely and it was made possible thanks to missionaries finding him again--this time with the help of social media.
