Connect to Facebook Groups to Teach and Baptize

Missionaries in Norway post in a Facebook Group leading to a man being taught and baptized

Before being transferred to Fredrikstad, Elder Farnsworth posted in a Facebook group how he was moving to a new place and that he wondered what activities were available in that city. A man named N. responded to his post by saying, 'There are many places in Fredrikstad. I, myself, moved here two years ago.' That was all it took for them to connect. After Elder Farnsworth and his companion, Elder Jackson, spoke to N., he wanted to meet and show them more of the city. The missionaries soon built a good relationship with him and as N. saw how the gospel played such a role in their lives, he became curious to learn more about it.

He was later taught by Elders Farnsworth, Jackson, Høgset and Bjerkøe. During this time, N. discovered that he had friends who were already members and that they felt totally at home in the Church. By recognizing the fruits of the gospel in other people's lives, he was willing to see how it would change his own life. Not only did the gospel change him, he now says that he hardly recognizes himself! After N.'s baptism, he expressed his gratitude to the elders:

'Hey! Dear Missionaries in Christ, the world is a better place because there is always someone out there helping others. Someone is always trying to make this world a better place to live. Saying 'thank you' may not repay the good things someone did for me, but it can certainly go a long way. Today I'm wearing the smile you gave me. I cannot thank you enough for your help. You guys are nothing less than a blessing from God. Please accept my gratitude. I am thankful and grateful to have you as missionaries, brothers, sisters and friends for life and  beyond. I met some awesome brothers and sisters who helped me along the way. You have no idea how much this has helped me. Thanks for the great times and funny memories. What a  day, the moment I talked and greeted you virtually. Bless your generosity, the world is full of wonderful things like you. My highest appreciation to your kindness. At this difficult time, it's so nice to feel appreciated. You are magnificent. You're a lifesaver. Words are powerless to express my gratitude. I'm so grateful for your thoughtfulness. I love being always happy. Be kind always, you will never be wrong with kindness. Always and forever in Christ, N.'
