On Sunday 26th July, missionaries from the England Manchester Mission and local member Kevin Fletcher met with presenter Mike Shaft at the studios of BBC Radio Manchester. The invitation followed an article published in the Manchester Evening News regarding the missionary activity outside the Palace Theatre, where the Book of Mormon musical was enjoying a ten-week run. The article had been submitted by Church Public Affairs quoting Manchester Mission President, Stuart McReynolds.

Sister Bulkley and Elder Stephens had an opportunity to share why they were in Manchester
and about their experiences speaking to people outside the Theatre. Brother Fletcher had the opportunity to talk about the Church in the Greater Manchester area and explain how it was very much part of the community. Mike Shaft asked his guests why they hadn’t seen the Book of Mormon musical, which provided an opportunity for them to share with Mike who the Latter-day Saints really are. It was a very positive experience for all involved; Mike Shaft requested a picture before his guests left and extended an invitation for them to visit again.
