Annual Poppy Appeal

Annual Poppy Appeal

Members continue to offer ongoing support to the annual Royal British Legion’s ‘Poppy Appeal’ campaign in October and November with 8,649 hours donated by 2,837 members across 174 wards and branches in 39 Stakes in 2014.  Commenting on this great selfless work Claire Rowcliffe, the RBL National Fundraising Manager, said: “We are grateful to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the assistance they have given during the annual Poppy Day Appeal. Their support has strengthened our collections ensuring that vital funds are raised which will make a huge difference to Service personnel, veterans and their families.”   Claire went on to say, “Two organisations  are key to helping the Royal British Legion with the UK annual “Poppy Day Appeal”, one is the

Rotary Club of Great Britain, the other is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.”

It is hoped that all wards and branches throughout the UK will get in touch with their local RBL office during September and October and offer help for the upcoming 2015 Poppy-Day Appeal.  If anyone has any questions about how to do that or what sort of help is required please get in touch with your Stake Director of Public Affairs.  As a resource at the national level the contact is David Eaton who can be contacted at david.eaton@business-advantage.com
