Valued service to others

Regimental Bands

On Saturday 6th of November, the Royal British Legion in Wales held a remembrance service in honour of servicemen and women who gave their lives for others. The evening was filled with music from regimental bands, marching by standard-bearers. as well as guest speakers from Welsh Government and interfaith leaders.

The event was made that little bit more special to Church members, knowing that Ffion Bernard of the Cardiff Ward in the Cardiff Stake, was singing in a choir made up of other young people of the area.

Ffion gave her time and talents to support a worthy cause, with all those who participated in helping raise funds to support ex-servicemen and women needing help.

President Spragg, Stake President of the Cardiff Stake, said how heart-warming it was to see Ffion and her fellow choir members sing such beautiful choral pieces—they must have been taught by their parents when they were younger to value service to others. Ffion said of the experience. “Having the opportunity to perform in remembrance of those who have and do service for us, was an experience I won’t forget. Being able to show my thanks in different ways is something I am grateful for.”
